Change Management: Going Back to School

"In times of profound change, the learners inherit the earth, while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists."

Al Rogers
Founder Global School/Net

Mr. Rogers is telling us to learn how the "profound change" will make things different rather than being "learned", believing we know what to do because what we once did, once worked.

Seeking out of box solutions to a new reality.

"In times of profound change."

  1. I get the idea that you need to think out of the box, particularly in times of great change, but that is exactly the time when human nature tells most to go slow.

Which do you think will win out: reason such as that coming from Rogers or human nature?

  2. If you're asking me, the vast majority will always act as human nature dictates, which is why it is human nature.

The number of people who are able to take advantage of a given set of circumstances is, by definition, nothing close to a majority. If it were otherwise they wouldn't have an advantage.

The issue is, who among us will be part of the small minority who early on recognize how to be different in whatever will be the new paradigm?
