As one whose company sold millions of dollars worth of market research, I can say without hesitation this is absolutely correct.

So little of business knowledge ever gets acted upon and that which doesn't has zero value to anyone.

  3. I naively went along thinking all those presentations of data my clients bought from Verity was actually doing some good. It was only much later that I realized far too few were using much if any of the information they bought from vendors, including Verity.

    Which is, in part, why I now focus on planning and change initiatives. If a client needs information, I can help them get it, but I'd rather help them focus on what they'll do with it rather than getting it for them.
