"The worst bankruptcy in the world is the person who has lost his enthusiasm."
H.W. Arnold
Unfortunately that happens to a lot of people who go through a personal, financial bankruptcy, but it is not limited to them nor to only those undergoing problems, financial or otherwise.
We all have low points but our business lives assume we will always be able to manage our way through them just as we must manage all the responsibilities of our position. Sometimes easier said than done.
How (do?) you keep your enthusiasm level as high as it needs to be?

Thinking about this I realize there are many ways an individual can be personally "bankrupt".
ReplyDeleteHow many managers understand that whatever the reason, when employees have difficulty in their lives, they are less able to do their jobs?
Just as when a machine breaks, when an employee breaks, the job doesn't get done and it is management's job to fix it (machine or employee.)
Sometimes both machines and employees need to be replaced, not fixed.
ReplyDeleteYes, sometimes it is necessary to replace a machine or a person but are you suggesting there is no need to worry about what the employee's problem is because you can simply find someone else?
