Anarchist or Entrepreneur?

"Any fool can make a rule and every fool will mind it."

Henry David Thoreau
19th century American naturalist/philosopher

True, but without rules we have anarchy.

The trick is to find balance between the need for structure and the benefit that comes from entrepreneurial thinking and behavior.

How do you do that?

(A great discussion on this comes from Clayton Christensen's "The Innovator's Dilemma".)

  1. Are entrepreneurs born, made, or both and if only born, can they do anything to control their uncontrolled entrepreneurial natures?

  2. Not sure. I do think that some of us have more of a risk taking gene than do others, some of us are more prone to laziness, and some are more creative and when you get the right combination of these and a few more key traits, you have an entrepreneur.

But if I understand you, I don't agree that entrepreneurs natures are always uncontrolled. They couldn't be completely and still succeed as spectacularly as so many do.
