Too Much Or Too Little?

"One must desire something to be alive."
Margaret Deland
Early 20th century American novelist
"I count him braver who overcomes his desires than he who overcomes his enemies."
Aristotle

If you're a long-term BW reader, you know there is a lot of seeming contradiction in what others have said, this apparently being one more example.
But is it?
While this time talking about desire, I see advice promoting equilibrium.
Many of us are not particularly good at that are we?

  1. I think you've posted something about the need for less radical positions in all things and this reminds me of that. Am I the only one in this country who identifies with the political middle? Between the tea partiers and those on the left who think Obama deserted them, I wonder.

  2. As you may have noticed, I try to stay away from politics in BW, believing there is too much of that elsewhere.

But I will say, as a life-long registered political independent, you are not alone.

Don't let them get you down Katy.
