Till (Your) Death Do Us Part

"Marriage is one long conversation, checkered by disputes."

Robert Louis Stevenson
19th century Scottish essayist/novelist

And this is no less true in mergers.

Long after the deal is done there will be many on both sides questioning the wisdom of having done so.

  1. This cartoon perfectly captures what happened when my company (a bank) was "merged" (read: absorbed) with another. They walked in the front door and quickly "merged" us right out the back door.

Unless you are doing the "merging" be very careful about who you merge with.

  2. Excellent advice Lois. Clearly one of the two individuals in this cartoon had one idea while the other another.
