As Much As Necessary

"I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying."

This sentiment has been expressed by a number of sports celebrities in addition to Mr. Jordon.

Few people I know would disagree with it.

But when it comes to actually doing what this says, many of us fall short.

Do you always/mostly/never try, regardless of the odds?

  1. you have earlier posts that talk about giving up to soon, about knowing when to give up, and the need to balance both. i still don't know how to get that right.

  2. Kenny Rogers sang, "You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em", which, it turns out, is easier said than done.

I don't always know how either but I think it comes down to analysis of the various alternatives, followed by planning, and finally a big dose of luck.

But whatever you do, never stop trying to get it all right.
