Reasoning is arguing with yourself isn't it? I'm not opposed to doing that, in fact I think it's a sign of maturity. But not many do that. And I don't believe one is more or less inclined to be reasonable depending on their level of intelligence or education.

If you felt you didn't have to reason with yourself leading to a possible change in what you believe, I suppose there would be no argument. And if that were true you'd either always be right or not challenging your beliefs enough.
