Think (But Not Too Much) Before You Act!
"Reflection makes men cowards."
William Hazlitt
18th century British essayist
You need to reflect before taking action but too much thinking about what might happen and you may not act at all.
How do you balance the two?

I attempt to get to a point where I feel there has been enough consideration for what I contemplate doing. That is not the same as having all the answers; often I don't. When there I act, when not there I keep looking for what I need to get to a point where I can act. The emphasis is on believing I have enough information as opposed to knowing I do, which almost never happens (the "knowing" part.)

That seems a balanced approach although I'm sure you sometimes wonder if you got it right.
