Passionate Turmoil

"Passions are the gales of life."

Alexander Pope
17/18th century English poet

Management talks of being "passionate" about what they do.

Wonderful, but in passion there is uncertainty and turmoil along with whatever good you expect.

Be prepared for all three.

  1. Our company phrase is "We're passionate about what we do!"

    BS

We make lawn equipment; how can you be passionate about that?

  2. I understand your point but in business, we're talking a different definition when it comes to passion.

With few exceptions (health care maybe, space exploation) I can't think of much of anything that warrants over the top excitement, which to me, is passion. Being passionate making and selling corn flakes??

Business "passion" is not as much about the product as it is the effort to morally and ethically succeed at what you do, and that includes lawn equipment.
