In fact the reaction to us and our ideas coming from others, is a much better indicator of who we really are than most anything we come up with for ourselves.

This is so true. If you watch other people responding to you, you will learn a great deal about yourself, both the good and the bad.
Another quote suggesting the need for self-reflection. Keep it up, we can all use more of this.
