So many companies claim their past glory without exhibiting the qualities that made their "sires" what they were.

You can't continually be rewarded for what others did in the past.

    Exactly. Tell that to Kodak, Sony, Zenith, and a host of now forgotten car companies.

    I've worked for and consulted with every type of company imaginable, from bedroom start-ups to 100+ year old Fortune 500's, and in many respects the new ones, with no history, are better off than the older more established ones. No history not to live up to.
