You Did It Once And If Need Be, You Can Do It Again!

"You gain strength, courage and confidence by each experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face."

Eleanore Roosevelt
20th century American columnist, lecturer and humanitarian

That being true we all should be considerably stronger given the events of the last 24 months, assuming we don't forget that we once confronted fear and survived.

Do you remember?

  1. Minimizing our ability to deal with our fears is human nature for most. But thanks for reminding me that we should try to break the cycle. I forget that I've survived every crisis and will likely continue to do so.

  2. That reminds me of my college years after the Army. Once back in school, I fretted over every test, certain I would not do well, resulting in an ulcer requiring doctor treatment. The doc told me I simply had to stop worrying so much, which caused me to tell him he had no idea how much pressure I was under. He said that no matter how true that might be, it was either control the worry or suffer big consequences, as if an ulcer was not already that.

And notice I was lecturing a medical doc telling him he had no idea about school pressure.

Soon the irony occurred to even me and I did take steps to control things. The ulcer went away and to this day, whenever something appears to be an insurmountable problem, I remind myself how I once thought that true of an undergraduate econ test.
