"I feel the pain of a little censure, even when it is unfounded, is more acute than the pleasure of much praise."
Thomas Jefferson
3rd president of the United States
I think this is probably true for most of us.
And yet we can or should learn more from criticism than we do from praise.
That is if we're listening.
not sure about this. some people are immune to criticism
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, or if they're not, they sure seem to be able to hide their pain.
ReplyDeleteCriticism is sometimes hard to take, but a good way to learn better. I used to take things literally, and would practically fall apart when things didn't go the way I wanted them to or if someone tried to correct me. I have recently read a great book that has helped me change my view point on criticism a lot. It is titled, "Stop Playing Safe: Rethink Risk. Unlock the Power of Courage. Achieve Outstanding Success" by Margie Warrell and has done a fantastic job at helping me bounce back from setbacks with greater resilience!
