Probably not.
Most of the "Santas" I've met on in IT. The majority have worked out as far as their technical skills go but few in terms of their ability to manager other IT people. There is something about technical workers that makes many of them difficult to manage.
We can miss opportunity by not hiring "Santas" and get hurt by hiring those who seem safe. Like books and covers, you have to dig below the surface to know who is who.
