It's Up to Each of Us

"At 50, everyone has the face he deserves."

George Orwell

More than just face, by 50 we have just about everything we deserve, assuming we define "deserve" as what we've worked for.

And least you think otherwise, that can and often does include, nothing.

Regardless of your age, what have you worked for?

What will you work for?

  1. This is true, period, and not just for being 50. When you're younger you need to work for whatever you want to be in the future and if you don't you won't get what you want.

What will I work for? Whatever is important to me and while you might think that's true of everyone, it's not. Many won't work for even the things they want the most.

  2. I hate to say it, but I see a lot of peers, many of which are friends, now out of work, who didn't work hard before losing their jobs.

Companies are just like us. They want the most for the least and there is nothing wrong with that. They keep what they feel are the best and let go the rest.

This economy is a good time to reassess what you want and how hard you are willing to work. But whatever you decide, remember that people who pay your salary are looking for maximum production.

  3. "They want the most for the least . . ."

That's what's wrong with this country. Everyone wants it all and doesn't want to pay for it.
