Now That's Just Cold!

"No one traveling on a business trip would be missed if he failed to arrive."

Thorstein Veblen
Early 20th century US economist and social philosopher

Ouch!

Don't know for sure, just guessing, but I'd bet Mr. Veblen was very possibly a communist.

But be that as it may, there are plenty of people far less left of center who take a dim view of those of us "in business".

Since we are all "in business" no matter how we earn our livings, how did that happen?

  1. Artists are not business people they are artists.

  2. I think I understand Bill's point Caryn.

They may be an artist but they still have to pay the rent, buy food, clothes, etc., and if they sell their art to do that, they are also in business.

  3. That's it exactly Janet.

I don't care what you do for a living, you are in business.

You can be a fireman, educator, work in medical, a poet, painter, athlete; you name it and some how some way, money must be made in order for you to continue doing what you do.
