Don't know for sure but I would guess most act on assumptions because:
ReplyDelete1) It's easier to do that than actually verifying them.
2) Their ego convinces them they are right, particularly the higher up the organization they are.
In my experience, a little of both although most really think they are right. Whether or not that is ego driven I can't say but in any event, it doesn't change the outcome. Make decisions based on faulty assumptions and you can be in real trouble.
