Just below the surface of this arguably brain candy quote is some great hard nosed business advice.
Depending to varying degrees on the decisions you make (and many you should have but didn't make), your business will move.
However, remember, there are three other possible directions in addition to up.

This and some of the other posts makes me wonder how much management's responsibility is to react versus act.
ReplyDeleteIt is true isn't it, that there is far more out of our control than in it, and if so, doesn't that mean that the majority of our management time will be spent reacting rather than pro-actively guiding things?
There is much less we control in comparison to what we don't, but I don't see this quote as being about that. I think it is more about the quality of our decisions.
