And don't get me started about what we think we know versus think we understand.

most every action taken in business is based on what someone believes they know. i wonder how many actually do know versus think they know?
ReplyDeleteBusiness planning, of which not nearly enough is done, is almost entirely based on assumptions rather than truths, so going on just that alone, I believe that most actions are taken based on perceived knowledge rather than certain knowledge. However there is little alternative to such decision making; things move too fast to allow management to wait until they are certain.
ReplyDeleteBut doesn't me that more time should not be spent separating truth from perceived truth, building a plan accordingly.
