THE BEST REVENGE

"Hatred is the coward's revenge for being intimidated."

George Bernard Shaw
19th/20th century Irish writer

Intimidation comes in many forms.

You can be intimidated by someone else's ideas, competence, intelligence, relationship with others important to you . . . any number of things.

The best revenge . . . do better.

Forgive And Forget?

"If I die, I forgive you.  If I live we shall see."

Spanish proverb

If you actually die, why not, you're not around to suffer the consequences of whatever wrong was done to you.

But what about in business where "death" means many things other than actually dying?

The Role of Revenge

"Revenge converts a little right into a great wrong."

German proverb

Just as it does in our personal lives, so too does revenge play a role in our business decisions, with the only question being, to what degree?

It shouldn't because in theory, all we decide to do and not do should be based on unemotional facts, but that's not the way things work all the time.

To what extent are you guided by a desire to get even?
