Al's right. Just like with budget cuts and taxes (everyone wants someone else's stuff reduced, someone else's taxes raised) most all are in favor of business ethics as long as they don't have to suffer from it.
There's an old saying about this, I can't recall exactly how it goes, but it has something to do with ethics being a good thing until they cost you money.
I hate to say it but I think that for many and maybe most, if there is a cost to acting ethically, doing what is right will take a backseat to whatever is the alternative.
Sometimes. As with the previous post, it depends on the circumstances. But in the end for most it will still come down to "what's in it for me?"
