YOUR VALUE; NO MORE AND CERTAINLY NO LESS

"We are more prone to generalize the bad than the good. We assume that the bad is more potent and contagious."

Eric Hoffer (1902-1983) American philosopher/author.

Unless your ego is much greater than your ability (a reality for many) this applies to you.

We minimize our strengths while maximizing our weaknesses, to the point of missing opportunities for greater success.

Don't give yourself more credit than you deserve and certainly no less.

HOW CAN YOU NOT BE INTERESTED IN ME???

"Egotist. A person of low taste, more interested in himself than me."

Ambrose Bierce (1842-1914) American newspaperman/short-story writer.

Be careful; taken one way the speaker is not an egotist while taken another s(he) is.

Which way would you take it?

ISN'T THAT GREAT?

"No truly great person ever thought themselves so."

William Hazlitt (1778-1830) British essayist

Taken literally, few, if any, could ever be great.

It's human nature for our egos to occasionally to frequently stop to admire what a great person it thinks we are.

But once more the problem is not with the basic idea but rather the all inclusiveness of it.

You can recognize your greatness, just not to the point that you expect/assume others will as well.
