"Some cause happiness wherever they go, others whenever they go."
Oscar Wilde
19th century Irish poet
This may seem a stretch in a business blog, but not really.
While the point of business is not to create happiness, there is nothing that says it shouldn't be a byproduct of whatever is the point of business.
And regardless, do you really believe that unhappy workers will produce as much as happy workers?
the world grows immeasurably sadder when i leave the room
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm old school but it's not my responsibility to worry about my worker's happiness. I don't make them happy or unhappy. I only pay them for the work they do, the rest is up to them.
ReplyDeleteNo offense intended Robert but that really is "old school", and not in the best interest of the company. You are not ultimately responsible for employee happiness but not being at all concerned will almost certainly result in employees who are much less efficient than they could be.
